Ebco.in: a headless storefront and catalog for a furniture-hardware brand
How I rebuilt Ebco.in as a headless eCommerce platform: a Next.js storefront on WooCommerce APIs, a catalog Ebco's team runs, and CC Avenue payments.

Outcomes
35%
faster order processing
In-house
catalog updates, handled by Ebco's own team
Self-service
repeat ordering for distributors
Context
The problem
01.
Distributors look products up by part number and specification rather than browsing categories.
02.
Each product category needs its own attributes (dimensions, ratings, compatibility), so a single flat product model did not fit.
03.
Catalog changes went through engineering, and orders arrived by email and phone before being keyed into the operations backend, which slowed processing and introduced errors at every handoff.
Approach
Architecture decisions
01
Headless WordPress and WooCommerce for the catalog
A proven commerce backend instead of a custom CMS to build and maintain. The storefront reads it only through APIs.
02
A data model per category
Each product type carries its own attributes, so filters and specification views stay accurate across very different product lines.
03
Integrate the operations backend instead of replacing it
Orders flow straight into the system the business already runs on, which removed the re-keying step rather than adding a migration.
